Business Manager - Job Description

Job Summary

Client is a New York City (Manhattan) based manufacturer and retailer of handmade artisan chocolates with a recognized luxury brand. The Business Manager will take responsibility for leading the campaign to grow the business, expand market recognition and increase margins. This position requires the ability to identify market opportunities and carry out a plan of action, plus the ability to manage day-to-day and long-term operations to support business growth.

Primary Responsibilities

� Increase sales and profit
� Develop and execute growth strategy
� Analyze and monitor the business on an ongoing basis
� Streamline and manage day to day operations
� Hire and train workers
� Provide staff with product knowledge
� Motivate staff to meet or exceed goals
� Maintain work schedule
� Place orders with vendors or wholesalers
� Assign workers to specific projects
� Notify staff of new procedures or policies
� Coordinate and obtain agreement from business owner on all the above.

Qualifications

� College degree in Business, Marketing or similar field
� 1 -3 years experience in a retail or related managerial position.
� Results-oriented, self-starter with strong organizational skills and an ability to work without supervision
� Exceptional sales skills, including negotiation
� Strategic thinker with ability to execute objectives, performance metrics, deadlines, and milestones; translating strategy into actionable plans.
� Strong knowledge of how to grow a business and the processes involved
� Knowledge of current technology to support operations and develop sales
� Good communication and math skills
� Team builder

Base salary plus performance bonus. Renegotiation of terms after Valentine's Day. Potential for equity position.
