Evening Café - Thursday, December 1, 2011, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.Topic: Facing Age-Related Changes and Setting New Priorities (Relationships) Chances are relationships play a bigger role today than ever before in your life. Maybe you're putting up with long-standing or recently surfaced negative relationships...within your family, at work, or in business. Or you may be experiencing increasing loss of relationships through death, relocation, or change in physical circumstances. In dealing with your own needs, relationships with children, siblings, parents, spouse, friends, and others, can become strained. If you're not in the 60+ age category, but know a woman who is, please do her a favor and pass along this invitation. And if you're planning to attend, invite a friend. | |
As a result of dealing with my own recent age-related changes, I've learned that other women my age are facing many of these same changes. Body and health changes, emotional changes, attitude changes, energy changes, and relationship changes, are just some of what we're experiencing, Many of these are unexpected and unwelcome. How can we cope and reset our priorities to help keep us feeling
in control of our lives?
Being a coach and a woman in transition, I want to share what I've learned with a small group of peers (women age 60 plus) who are addressing their own life changes and challenges. So I've initiated two small group meetings each month. We come together for 90 minutes to talk about the things we can't seem to talk about with others in our lives. Some of it's scary, some anger-producing, some emotionally draining. Hear what other women our age are experiencing, compare notes, and be prepared to give and get support for making hard decisions.
